De Boer Machines Nederland B.V. delivers dust extraction installations, whereby the contaminated airstream is cleaned by means of a wet dust collector. The wet dust collector is of the scrubber type. This means that a liquid, in this case water, is used to clean the airstream.

The function of the wet dust collector or wet filter is based on centrifugal separation. At the entrance of the filter, a water mist is added to the airstream. The water is supplied and pressurized by a normal standard pump.

A guaranteed water flow is obtained, as no sprinkler jets are used which could cause obstruction.

The air, water, dust mixture flows from an open pipe to a spherical deflector. The mixture flows to the cylinder by a centrifugal action. The centrifugal force moves the heavier particles towards the cylinder wall.

During this action the heavy water particles pick up the fine dust particles and deliver them to the surrounding water layer.

Due to the gravitational force, the water and dust mixture falls into to the collecting hopper of the filter. At intervals, the water and dust mixture is drained and replaced by new water. Level controls and timer control are used the complete the process automatically.
