The multimould expandable polystyrene (EPS) Moulding machine fills a gab between a block and a single moulding machine because it can produce large quantities of big shape moulded EPS products. If a costumer produces more than 1000 ton EPS each year and the variety of shapes are not to different the multimould machine could be a very interesting alternative compare to block molding or single moulding machines.
The characteristics of the Multimould machine are:
- One machine can produce up to ±150m³ moulded EPS per hour.
- The machine is designed as a continuous mould transport system. The moulds consist of a
top and a bottom mould are locked by multiple mould locks. In each machine cycle all moulds are moved through one position. The mould transport system consists of two stacked conveyor tracks, linked by two mould lifts. The demoulding, filling, steaming and forced cooling of the moulds takes place on the upper track. During the transport of the moulds on the lower track, the EPS products stabilizes. Subsequently they are demoulded on the upper track.
- The result is a very high capacity, flexibility and lower energy consumption because the temperature of the machine and moulds remains almost the same during the production process.
- The machine has a very short cycle time of about 10 seconds + the required steaming time.
- It is possible to produce continuously 15 different EPS products without stopping the machine.
- The machine can also be executed with only a few mould to reduce the investment in the beginning which will give less production capacity. To increase the production in this case, only more moulds are required. This execution is very interesting if a costumer just start to produce EPS products.
- De installation needs about 50m² of floor space, about 4m³ air per m³ EPS and consumes about 50 kW electrical energy per hour, and about 4,5 kg steam per m³ EPS.
