De Boer has been founded by Gerrit De Boer with the help of his father in 1936. The family Pruyn-De Boer are still the major shareholder of the company and the 4^th generation is today active in the company.

De Boer concern contains several enterprises:

1. De Boer Machines Nederland BV active is in designing, constructing, erecting and commissioning of customised installations and machinery.De Boer is the number one supplier worldwide of soft mud presses and additional machinery and installations just in and around the shaping department of a brick factory.
   
    
2. De Boer International is containing the shares of the participations in two other  companies De Boer Damle India Ltd and Petersen Maskinfabrik Denmark.
   
    
3. De Boer Beheer is containing all the patents of the customized installations and machines.
